Good News for the Troops!
"Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell doesn't appear to be budging when it comes to war-funding legislation that sets a timetable for troop withdrawals.He's blocked Senate passage of a measure that would keep U.S. operations in Iraq funded for several more months, but set a goal of bringing most troops home by December of next year. President Bush is threatening a veto.In a statement, McConnell said that troops and families "deserve to know" that soldiers will have funding by the time Congress leaves for Christmas......"
