Help the KY GOP win in 2010

Dear Supporter,

Despite overwhelming public opposition, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in Congress displayed unbelievable arrogance last night by ramming through a government takeover of health care that increases taxes on families and small businesses, increases health insurance premiums, cuts Medicare benefits for seniors and stifles economic growth and job creation.

Click here to watch Congressman Geoff Davis’ inspiring floor speech rebuking Democrats for "thwarting the will of the American people” and taking our nation on a “headlong rush toward socialism.”
The Democrats used backroom deals, special kickbacks and parliamentary tricks to win this battle – but we can win the war in November. Help the KY GOP elect true conservatives to Washington who will repeal these devastating reforms and fire Nancy Pelosi from Speaker of the House. As Congressman Hal Rogers accurately surmised, “If we don’t take action to reverse this damage, we will go from having the best health care in the world, to a system that is beyond repair.”

Whether it’s $20, $50, $100 or $500, we need your help to stop the liberal agenda that is destroying our country. Enough is enough. Now is the time to get involved and take a stand. And, it starts here at home. From the US Senate race to State Senate and State House races, the KY GOP has an extraordinary slate of candidates ready to work hard for you.

But, your financial support is needed to ensure our candidates have the resources needed to defeat Democrat incumbents like Ben Chandler and John Yarmuth this November. That’s two votes we can take away from Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats’ destructive agenda.

If every Republican in Kentucky gave just $10 to the KY GOP, it would significantly change the political landscape in the Bluegrass.

Here’s a look at some of the more disturbing elements of Obama Care:

  • $569.2 billion tax increases on small businesses and middle-class families.

  • $2,100 increase in premiums for millions of families under the Senate-passed health care bill, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

  • $520 billion in cuts to Medicare, cutting benefits and raising premiums on seniors.
  • $20 billion unfunded mandate on already thinly stretched State budgets to expand Medicaid eligibility. From 2014 to 2019, this will cost Kentucky an additional $303 million.
  • Contains a marriage penalty that will mean higher premiums for married couples.

Join us in preparing for the ultimate battle in November. Make a contribution to the Republican Party of Kentucky today. Now is the time to stand up and fight back. Don’t miss this opportunity to help us make history in 2010.

Barbour: Coverage of healthcare the 'longest wet kiss in political history'

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) on Sunday slammed reporters for what he said was lax, uncritical coverage of the White House's healthcare push.
"I mean, since this thing passed last weekend, we have seen the longest wet kiss in political history given to the Obama administration by the liberal media elite, and every day that goes by, it gets sloppier," Barbour stressed on ABC's "This Week," from the Hill

Republicans have their sights set to take over another Kennedy seat

"Republicans put themselves back on the map in the Northeast by stealing one Kennedy seat. And now, the last vestige of the Kennedy legacy has become a cause célèbre.

Rhode Island state Rep. John Loughlin has found himself the unwitting beneficiary of a concerted effort by 2008 GOP presidential candidates to take that other Kennedy seat — retiring Democratic Rep. Patrick Kennedy’s eastern Rhode Island district...." The Hill
